Grand Teton National Park
Geology
Covering 485 sq miles, the Teton mountain range in northwestern Wyoming is the Home to Grand Teton National Park. The park is filled with many beautiful lakes and mountains, such as Jenny Lake which were formed by melted mountain glaciers.

Location and Lodging
The park is very close to the town of Jackson Hole which is located 12 miles from the south entrance of the park. Jackson Hole has its own airport (JAC). It serves regional flights only, and is located around 15 minutes to the town by car. If you are looking for a larger airport, Salt Lake City airport (SLC) is located 4-5 hours (280 miles) from the town.
Family Friendly Trails
String Lake Loop Trail
Grand Teton has a lot of great trails (do not start your visit without bear spray!). On our first day we went around Jenny Lake. The shuttle boat that takes you across the lake had a long line, so we did the whole lake (7 miles), stopping for lunch. Take the short trail to the Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, it has amazing views of the lake and park.
The String Lake loop and Leigh Lake was fun (we did not go the whole look around Leigh) and the water was amazing for a quick jump. We also loved the Taggart Lake Trail (3.8 miles)

Fun Facts/Tips
We did this trip together with Yellowstone National Park. Downtown Jackson Hole is very lively with many restaurants. You might catch the Grand Teton Music festival in town during summer.
It is very important to bring bear spray along with you to Grand Teton, as there are grizzly bears in the park and encounters with humans are frequent.
